THIS IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL Antique English Sterling Silver Tea Strainer with lovely Cherubs/Putti decoration in gorgeous Rococo style pattern. This lovely Tea Strainer has classical wide edge form with deep pierced bowl. It has a most charming cherub decoration with flowers, Rocaille scallop borders, and scrolls.
This lovely Tea Time Collectible is a bit of mystery regarding the hallmarks - it bears English essayer mark of 1921 London with maker's initial JGP, so we list it as English. As well as French "A" mark with a crown and branch, of late 18th Century Paris (1762-1768). There is a possibility that this Tea Strainer is a product of Hanau, Germany (there were copies and reproductions of old silver from this once free-trade region) too.
In any case - this is a lovely piece. A special find for you! Don't miss out!
