THIS IS A TRULY DELIGHTFUL Pair of Antique French Sterling Silver Open Salt Cellars, in excellent condition, comprises sterling silver serving spoons to perfecting its beauty. This fabulous Pair of Salts has sterling silver holder, supported by four casted feet with elaborate acanthus ornamentation and scrolls. The holder's panel is finely embellished with pierced scroll design, accented with foliage motifs, and applied decorative borders. The interior liners are removable, deep cobalt-blue crystal in oval shape.

Hallmarked French Minerva 1st Standard Mark, which guaranteed .950 purity sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. We could not find maker's mark. The serving spoons have also sterling silver marks, though slightly faded and difficult to read, most probably Michal-Ange mark and Paris's guarantee mark, used between 1819-1838.
