Delighted to have for sale this very rare Imperial Era Antique Russian Solid Silver "Niello" Tea Spoon Set of 12 pieces in its original wooden presentation box. The spoons, dated back 1830, have excellent Niello decoration of flower and foliage on textured background, with gorgeous partial gilt (gold-washed over solid silver) finish on the surface. Excellent condition and nicely housing in its original cobalt blue silk and velvet lined presentation box.
All the spoons bear magnificent array of hallmarks - it is almost a part of decoration - including Russian city mark of Moscow. Assayer mark of Nikolai Lukich Dubrovin dated 1830. Silversmith mark of 2 cyrillic letters. "84" Zolotniks mark corresponding to 875/1000 purity. French "Recense" mark, used in Paris since 1809. French Villeiard (Michal-Ange) mark of 2nd standard, which guarantees 800/1000 purity, used in Paris since 1819. Guaranteed mark of Paris.
