OFFERED FOR YOUR consideration is this gorgeous Antique French Sterling Silver Dessert or Hors D'Oeuvres Serving Set of various 4 pieces by renown skilful Parisian silversmith Edouard ERNIE, active 1882-1901. The design to the handle is most elaborate, carefully arranged and highly detailed Louis XVI style ornamentation. It bears beautiful hand-engraved monogram "BC" in laurel cartouche. These servers are wholly made of sterling silver - including the top part. Excellent condition with beautiful patina acquired through ages, finely housing in its original presentation box, lined with white silk and velvet.
Hallmarked the French Minerva No.1 mark on each piece, which guarantees .950 purity of sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the most high quality silver standard, purer then .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark is that of Edouard Ernie, active 1882-1901 at 7 rue Réaumur, Paris.
