Offered for your consideration is this truly gorgeous Antique German Bronze "Judenstern" Hanging Shabbat Lamp from late 18th Century to 19th Century. Intricate baluster stem with 8 branches star-shaped oil container and 8 removable oil-drippers. It completed with deep suspended drip bowl (Godet) and adjustable hanging ratchet for the top. This style of Judenstern is rare to find today. It appears often times in the Jewish-themed works of Moritz Daniel Oppenheim, a famous painter from mid 19th Century. There is also a very similar design Judenstern in the collection of Jüdisches Museum Berlin.
Measurements & Condition
30 inch (76.5 cm) long x 12.6 inch (32 cm) diameter. Hanging ratchet is adjustable between 50.5 cm to 80 cm long.
