This is a very beautiful and in excellent condition Antique Russian 84 Partial Gilt Silver Sugar Sifter or Tea Strainer from early 20th Century. This piece is laden of beauty, a classic Imperial Russian style handle with delicate hand-engraved monogram AM. Interior of the bowl has gorgeous Vermeil finish (gold-washed over solid silver.)
Hallmarked 1. Kokoshnik mark for small items, hard to identify the city name. 2. "84" solid silver guarantee mark of 1908-1926. 3. maker's mark "JS." 4. French importation control mark Swan, used between 1893-1970.
