Delighted to have for sale this very beautiful and rare Late 19th Century Imperial Russian Solid 84 Silver & Enamel Cloisonné Match Box Holder, dated back circa 1880, Moscow. The outside surface is finely decorated with a foliage and Rococo style motif filled with strawberry red, cobalt blue and green translucent enamel and white, sky blue and light purple polychrome enamel, set against delicately stippled silver background. The border to all side embellished with a line of cloisonné beads with turquoise blue fill.
Hallmarked Russian silver quality mark 84 of Moscow, which corresponds to 875/1000 purity solid silver. Maker's mark with initial BA.
