OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION is this fabulous Antique French Sterling Silver & Crystal Wine Decanter Set of 4 matching pieces, finely crafted by talented Parisian master silversmith Henri SOUFFLOT, active 1884-1910. The design is most ornate and sumptuous Rococo style, embellished with Rocaille scallop borders, scroll, and flower on twist fluted body and handle. The interior of silver mount has gorgeous Vermeil gilt (gold-washed over sterling silver) finish. Sterling silver pedestal feet is also decorated with matching scallop border.

This is a set of 4 pieces - the size is rather smaller than standard wine decanters of this period, which makes it more convenient to place on the table and each 1-2 guests can have their own decanter. It's extremely rare to find 4 matching pieces of this type of decanters today.

Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark on each silver part, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark of SH for Henri SOUFFLOT, 89 rue Turbigo, Paris, active 1884-1910.

Measurements & Condition

Each decanter measures 9.5 inch (23.5 cm) tall x 5.1 inch (13 cm) wide from spout to handle, 4.3 inch (11 cm) diameter. Weight 20.98 ounces (595 grams) each.
Each decanter can contain approx. 12.8 fluid ounces (0.38 litre) of liquid.

Very Good Estate Condition with trace of minor use. The crystal body has micro bubbles or coarse, sandy surface along the decorative lines, perhaps from production (not damage, please refer the detail photos.) Some tiny dimple-like micro dents mainly on the pedestal feet. Otherwise in quite excellent shape and ready for use. The Vermeil gilt finish is still vivid and richly presented.
