OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION is this very beautiful Pair of Antique French Sterling Silver Tea/Coffee Cup & Sauce Set, finely crafted by talented Parisian master silversmith Jules Gallerand, active 1880-1895. The design is in gorgeous Rococo revival style, twist spiral body with Rocaille scallop border accent and a large Rococo cartouche with hand-engraved monogram CV. The casted handle is also matching Rococo design. The interior of the cup has gorgeous Vermeil finish (gold-washed over sterling silver) on the surface.
Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark on one of the cup, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark on one of the cup, initial JG and a ladder for Jules Gallerand, active 1880-1895. The saucers bear no hallmarks, but we tested it and guaranteed they are made of sterling silver.
